CHECKPOINT
I put genres that relate to my passion here, because it involves research. The research verifies my argument and my credibility. Similarly, the checkpoint at the airport is where security inspects you and your possessions to ensure the safety of the passengers on the flight. Basically, they both say, “Wait. Is it safe to say? Is it safe for the passengers? Let’s double-check.”
What U.S. Travelers Prefer to Eat While on Vacation | infographic
The infographic displays the preference of food of American travelers’ when they are overseas. I chose an infographic, because it was the most concise way of demonstrating which type of food is more commonly liked. The infographic allowed me to learn more about the popularity among different kinds of food. For example, Italian food seemed to be the most favored one when I thought American food would be the most popular.
Street Food is Here to Stay | editorial
The editorial portrays my stance on the controversy over street food. I support street food, because I’ve eaten street food before in some countries, such as Mexico. I believe that street food represents its state/country well and comes from the soul of its people. My experience with travel and food further enhances my opinion on street food and writing an editorial was the best method to express it.
FLIGHT
During the flight, most people relax on the airplane. I thought it was best to put genres that directly involve me here, because I want my reader to relax and get to know me more.
A Memorable Moment | blog entry
I tried to make the blog entry interactive with my reader and reminiscent of my past. I reflected on being on dialysis and on being dialysis-free. My experience with the two impacted my traveling hobby and eating habits. I thought a blog entry was the best option, because I wanted to encourage my reader and make him/her realize that the journey, no matter how difficult, will be well worth it in the end.
It Isn’t All That Bad | poem
The poem resembles my point of view on my height. People usually view short height as a negative, including me. While I wrote this poem, I looked at it as a positive. Rather than pointing out all of the disadvantages, I focused on the advantages. I realized that there’s more than just not being able to ride roller coasters with a height limit. The poem resembles my confidence and I was able to recognize the benefits of being short. I thought a poem would be a creative way to present the advantages.
Curiosity? | definition mode
I wrote this definition essay and simultaneously discovered more about who I am. Furthermore, I learned more about the word itself. Figuring out one word that represented me the best was a bit challenging, but I was able to choose one that described me the most. A definition essay is the most reasonable way to describe who I am, because it helped define me through looking at myself from a different perspective.
DESTINATION
The destination is where the journey ends. I put genres that have connections between my passion and the origins of my passion. It’s where I reflect and have a deeper insight on who I truly am.

The photo gallery is to show my experience with traveling. The photos shown are a few of the places I’ve been to. Although I haven’t had the time to travel lately, I plan on doing so sometime soon. Because I’ve been traveling since I was a kid, the experience helped me determine who I am and what my passion is.
His Perspective | interview
The interview with my dad shows who I got my love of travel from. His point of view on travel influenced my point of view on travel. An interview was the best way to express my dad’s perspective, because it’s directly from him. I recorded this conversation during dinner, because I thought it was the right time to mention it. Then, I listened to it and wrote it out. He’s very passionate about traveling and I most likely got it from him.
My Future Graduation Gift | dream sequence
The dream sequence resembles an outlook on something I expect. My experience with traveling causes me to be more curious about new places, namely France. I discovered that France is the top location I want to travel to. My dream sequence depicted my desire to explore France and its contents.
What’ve You Been Up to Lately? | diary entry
My diary entry sums up where I got my love and interest in food from. I thought a diary entry would best suit this, because it was similar to speaking to a close friend. I dug so deep into how and why I developed a passion for food and cooking that it led back to my medical history.

The multimedia genre I chose was Instagram, because it is the social media platform I use to post photos of my food. The Instagram feed represents my love for food. Instagram was the best way to show this, because words wouldn’t have been able to showcase the food.
